The vintage trek website uses SN, but ends with 1997, and I think my trek is. Update: the answers so far assume you know the model yr, which is what I am trying to determine.

How do I find the model year of a Trek bike? I know the serial number and numbers stamped at the bottom of the frame, but I don't know how to find the exact model year.
